USING GOOGLE MY BUSINESS TO INCREASE YOUR WEBSITE TRAFFIC ORGANICALLY
Google My Business is a powerful (and free!) tool for businesses to increase their online visibility and reach their target audience.
It’s something that I always recommend a business to set up and to utilise for maximum results. And it’s super easy to manage.
By creating a free listing on Google My Business, businesses can manage their online presence, update their business information, and showcase their products or services to potential customers. This can help increase website traffic, improve search engine rankings, and ultimately drive more sales and revenue.
Additionally, Google My Business allows customers to leave reviews, which can build trust and credibility for the business.
By optimising your Google My Business profile, you can increase your visibility on Google and attract more customers to your website, for free.
Here are some tips for using Google My Business to attract organic traffic –
- Claim and verify your Google My Business listing –
Make sure you claim your Google My Business listing and verify your business details, you will need a Gmail email address to do this.

2. Optimise your business information –
Fill out your business information completely, including your business name, address, phone number, website, and business hours. Make sure your information is accurate and up-to-date, as this will help Google and potential customers trust your business.
3. Add photos and videos –
Including photos and videos of your business can help customers get a better sense of what you offer and can make your listing more appealing. Make sure your photos and videos are high-quality and showcase your business in the best possible light. Video’s need to be short, otherwise they will be trimmed. Stick to under 30 seconds.
4. Encourage reviews –
Encourage customers to leave reviews on your Google My Business listing. Positive reviews can help boost your visibility and attract more customers, while negative reviews can help you identify areas for improvement. One way to get (good) reviews is to send the
5. Use Google Posts –
Google Posts are a feature within Google My Business that allows you to create short posts that appear in your business listing. Use Google Posts to promote sales, events, or new products and services. This can help drive traffic to your website and increase your visibility on Google.
There are also other features you can utilise like ‘event’s and updates.
I find whenever we add a photo, video or update, it increases our clients views dramatically.
Because you want to be searchable on Google (above your competitors), use as much SEO as you can in your listing, this will help you rank easier. Just remember though, it can take 3-6 months for you to start ranking, so be patient! And even though you may not see massive results straight away, keep going because one day, boom, there it will be…
Some great tools you can use to help you with your listing are Ubersuggest, SEMRush or even Google Trends can help in terms with what people are currently searching for.
By optimising your Google My Business profile, you can attract more organic traffic to your website and help your business stand out in local search results.
Make sure you take advantage of all the features Google My Business has to offer and stay engaged with your customers to build a strong online presence!
