WHAT IS ORGANIC MARKETING & HOW IT CAN BENEFIT YOUR BRAND
Organic marketing is a form of advertising that focuses on building a brand’s reputation and visibility through natural, non-paid means, using the resources and features available within platforms and with the algorithms used.
Organic marketing can include strategies such as search engine optimisation (SEO), content marketing, social media marketing, and influencer marketing. Unlike traditional forms of advertising, such as television or print ads, organic marketing relies on building a relationship with customers through valuable and informative content. When your audience has trust in your brand, a conversion is more likely.
At Abundant Life Studio, organic marketing is our specialty, we are actually rockstars at it. Just sayin’….
When I started ALS, my goal was to shine a light on organic marketing and to highlight the incredible results you can achieve with it, why you should invest in it for your growth and brand and the depth at which you can go into with it.
But we do get that not everyone has an understanding of it, and I admit, the main issue that you face with organic marketing is the ability to track conversions clearly. This is because one, most social media platforms really only focus on the pixel that tracks website visits with paid ads, and secondly, Google is a little naughty with conversions and can ‘take’ some conversions from organic and claim them as their own….it’s really frustrating.
But don’t let this put you off. Organic marketing is important for some many reasons, and one of them is it will bolster up any paid ad campaigns you run.
In my experience, I see a much higher result of paid ad campaigns when it is paired with organic. Reason being, if you are running an ad via your social account and the lead checks out your page and it’s bland….then it doesn’t matter what kind of money you throw at the ad campaign, you won’t get the highest quality results.
The first paragraph in this article sums it up – focuses on building a brand’s reputation – your reputation and social proof online is imperative, and the trust from your audience MUST be there for your consumer to convert, and if all they are seeing is a paid ad and a bland account, they are not going to convert as easily.
We had a client that we worked on a campaign with for a year, and our focus was organic. They paid an expensive agency to run the paid campaigns, spent tens of thousands, and it B O M B E D. I asked to see the ads that were being run, and there was no soul in it. It was all ‘click here’ ‘buy this’…this type of advertising it just doesn’t work on it’s own.
We had another client that we ran both paid and organic campaigns for a set period ,and we brought in 34% of their revenue using this strategy. So if you are running ads, make sure your organic is up to scratch!
Back to organic marketing now…Another one of the key benefits of organic marketing is that it allows brands to reach a wider audience without the high costs associated with paid advertising. By creating valuable and informative content, brands can attract potential customers who are actively searching for products or services like theirs. This can help to increase brand awareness and drive more traffic to a website. Your audience feels like they are part of a ‘community’ when they connect with your content – this is how you build trust and conversions.
Organic marketing helps to build trust and credibility with customers. By providing helpful and educational content, brands can establish themselves as experts in their field and demonstrate their commitment to providing value to their customers. This can help to establish a loyal customer base and increase the likelihood of repeat business.
Organic marketing also plays a big impact on a brand’s search engine rankings. By optimising content for search engines (SEO), brands can increase their visibility in search results for their social posts and videos and drive more traffic to their website via Google listing’s of their posts. This can help to increase visibility and reach, ultimately leading to more conversions and sales.
To conclude, my advice is to remember that it’s not that one is better than the other – they are two completely different strategies and need to each be used in their own way. Organic marketing is a marathon, not a sprint – you are setting your digital footprint up for long term success – and success that you can then leverage and pair with other strategies. Paid marketing is a sprint, not a marathon and does not leave you a digital footprint. I will always recommend to set your organic up for the long term before you start looking at paid strategies, and you can’t go wrong!
